Helping You to Help Yourself

Whatever the problem, issue, diagnosis, calamity, damage, disaster....  I will walk with you, sit with you, metaphorically hold your hand, whilst you go through the process you need to understand, make sense of things, come to terms with, and move forward.

Life is life, with all its unpredictable turns and challenges.  Everyone should have someone supporting them when they need it most, yet friends and family are not always available, what you want, or what you need.   Sometimes it takes a therapeutic relationship to be able to offer you a new perspective on your life and the issues and relationships that surround you.

I offer a free 30mins session to allow us to consider the possibilities of a therapeutic relationship.

Offering Online Sessions Starting at £30.00

Life may be horribly bleak right now, but if you let me, I can help you to rebuild your resilience, create flexible out of the box thoughts to help you understand and problem solve, and make small-steps positive changes that will help you to build a happier life.

We all walk a challenging life path, but often it's how you walk the path that makes the difference, not the path itself.   I will always walk softly beside you as you look at the paths you have taken, are on, and would like to follow in the future.  We take part of the journey together, going at whatever pace works for you.

My areas of special interest are as a therapy tutor, in counselling students and in clients with learning differences/ neurodivergent brains, - ADHD, Dyslexia, OCD, etc, and home educators.  Please see 'my experience' page for additional information.

Therapeutic Tools - you can learn to use between therapy sessions.

Creative Therapy – creativity in its many forms has been shown to have a positive impact on people’s health and wellbeing.  Creative therapy can be shared and discussed at part of our sessions.   It can be a profound way to express your inner most feelings.  I currently work with photos, poetry, clay, hand drawn art, collages, journals, and computer graphics.

Crystals – unique and solid, you can use crystals to represent important people in your life and how they arrange themselves around you.  Exploring representation through colours, shapes, and patterns can be very insightful.

Nature – useful to explore the many cycles that we experience in life, adaptability,  the basic need for nourishment, space to breath and our natural desire to grow,

Meditation – learning to relax, quiet your mind, and lower your blood pressure. A good tool if you suffer from stress, anxiety, or heart problems.

Body Awareness – how you feel physically is often a reflection on your mental wellbeing.  Just as you get a sense of butterflies when you are nervous, you can get aches and pains when you are fearful, stressed, and anxious.  Learn to notice your body’s physical reactions and really exploring what those reactions feel like and mean to you.

Poetry

I walked a mile with pleasure,

She chatted all the way,

But left me none the wiser,

For all she had to say.

I walked a mile with sorrow,

And ne'er a word said she,

But Oh!  The things I learnt from her,

When Sorrow walked with me.

By Robert Browning Hamilton

There are of course always more that we can explore during our session times together.
